South African music sensation Tyla has added another prestigious accolade to her growing list of achievements. The “Push 2 Start” hitmaker was crowned World Artist of the Year at the iHeartRadio Music Awards 2025, which took place on Monday, 17 March 2025, at the Dolby Theater in Los Angeles, USA.

The 23-year-old superstar has been making waves internationally with her unique blend of Amapiano, R&B, and Afro-pop, and this latest win cements her status as a global force in the music industry. Tyla’s groundbreaking success has seen her amass millions of streams worldwide, collaborate with international stars, and dominate global charts with hit singles.

The iHeartRadio Music Awards celebrate the biggest names in music, honoring artists based on radio airplay, digital streams, and overall influence. Winning World Artist of the Year is a significant milestone, as it recognizes Tyla’s impact across different continents and music markets.

Tyla’s victory sparked an outpouring of celebration from fans and fellow artists on social media. Many expressed their pride in seeing a South African artist making history on such a massive platform.

Over the past few years, Tyla has emerged as one of South Africa’s biggest global exports. She first gained international recognition with her viral hit “Water”, which topped international charts and earned her a Grammy Award for Best African Music Performance in 2024. Since then, she has continued to dominate with hit songs, major collaborations, and now, another major international award.

Following this win, Tyla is expected to drop new music and embark on a highly anticipated world tour. With her unique sound and growing international fanbase, it’s clear that Tyla is just getting started.
