Amapiano producers Sfarzo Rtee and Ntokzin have found themselves in a heated public dispute over the ownership of their latest track, “Ex Yam Iyajola.” The controversy erupted after Ntokzin accused Sfarzo Rtee of stealing the song, sparking a back-and-forth exchange on social media.
The drama unfolded when Ntokzin took to social media to claim that Sfarzo Rtee had released a snippet of “Ex Yam Iyajola” without proper credit. According to Ntokzin, the track was a collaborative effort, and Sfarzo had no right to post or claim the song as his own.
Sfarzo Rtee, however, did not take the allegations lightly. He quickly addressed the situation via a live video, expressing his frustration over the accusations.
In his response, Sfarzo Rtee denied any wrongdoing, stating that he was surprised by Ntokzin’s claims.
“Even if Ntokzin is watching, congratulations on the drop, my guy. But for you to come and say I stole your song? You know there was a reason why you didn’t call me because you knew I was going to ask you what you meant. Now you are dropping a song about me and including me in the conversation, making me have to explain myself for something I don’t even have to,” said Sfarzo Rtee.
Not one to let the matter rest, Ntokzin responded, further insisting that Sfarzo Rtee had unfairly claimed the track.
“My guy, the fact that you are replying to me shows that what you are saying doesn’t hold weight. You even took the whole day to respond. I don’t even know if you were planning to reply or not. This shows you have no solid information. I take you as my guy, but at the end of the day, work is work. I won’t wake up one morning, take your song, and stay quiet about it. We worked hard, and then you come after we posted a snippet and pushed our song, then tell the very same vocalist to copy it?”
Disputes over song ownership are nothing new in the Amapiano industry, and this feud between Sfarzo Rtee and Ntokzin is just another chapter in the growing tension between producers. Whether or not they will resolve the issue remains to be seen, but fans are already weighing in on social media, choosing sides in the heated debate.
