DJ Maphorisa Calls Out Promoters: “Invest in Proper Sound”

DJ Maphorisa, one of Amapiano’s most influential figures, has voiced his frustrations over poor sound quality at events, urging promoters to invest in proper sound equipment. The multi-talented DJ and producer took to social media to express his concerns, emphasizing how subpar sound systems negatively affect performances.

In a passionate rant, DJ Maphorisa addressed the issue, saying:

“You are killing us, promoters! You are killing us. That’s why Kabza is always angry when he plays—playing with a low sound. Kabza has a proper sound. Just give Kabza these low sounds and see what he does to you. I am just feeling sorry for you guys.”

The statement highlights a long-standing issue in the music industry where promoters fail to prioritize high-quality sound systems, leading to poor audience experiences and frustrated performers. DJ Maphorisa, who has been at the forefront of Amapiano’s global success, believes that proper sound equipment is essential for both artists and audiences to fully enjoy the music.

His mention of Kabza De Small, his long-time collaborator and fellow Amapiano pioneer, further reinforces the seriousness of the issue. Kabza is known for his perfectionism when it comes to sound quality, and Maphorisa’s comments suggest that subpar sound setups can ruin even the best performances.

Fans and fellow artists echoed DJ Maphorisa’s sentiments, agreeing that investing in high-quality sound systems should be a priority for event organizers. Some even pointed out that sound quality can make or break an event, no matter how big the artist lineup is.

With DJ Maphorisa taking a stand on this matter, it remains to be seen whether promoters will step up and prioritize sound investments.
