Renowned deep house DJ and producer Oscar Mbo has given Kelvin Momo his flowers, acknowledging his incredible growth in the music industry. In a heartfelt Instagram story, Oscar shared a moment of reflection on the first time he met the Amapiano star and expressed admiration for his journey.

Oscar Mbo recalled meeting Kelvin Momo during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic when Momo was preparing to drop his debut album. At the time, Kelvin had several unreleased projects on his hard drive, carefully selecting which songs to include in his highly anticipated release.

“Met Kelvin within the heights of Covid, and he only just wanted to drop his debut album with tons of projects in his hard drive,” Oscar Mbo wrote. “Took many, many days to select the ones he wanted, and seeing him on his release day so joyful and relieved was something else. I just knew a beast had just been unleashed.”

Fast forward a few years later, and Kelvin Momo has risen to the top of the Amapiano scene, becoming a key player in shaping the genre’s deep, soulful sound. His ability to craft intricate, emotional beats has earned him a loyal fan base and the respect of industry heavyweights like Oscar Mbo.

Oscar concluded his message by encouraging Kelvin to keep pushing forward. “Few years later, he’s up there with loads on the way. Stay pushing my man, you’re special,” he added.

Kelvin Momo, widely known for pioneering the “private school Amapiano” subgenre, has consistently delivered hit projects that blend deep house elements with Amapiano rhythms. His albums, including Ivy League and Ntsako, have received widespread acclaim, with tracks like Bo Gogo and Vulani dominating streaming charts.

Oscar Mbo’s recognition of Kelvin Momo highlights the importance of mutual respect and support in the South African music industry. As both artists continue to shape the soundscape of their respective genres, fans can expect even more groundbreaking music from them in the future.
