Renowned DJ and fashion enthusiast Oscar Mbo has joined an exclusive group of South African celebrities to own Doctor Khumalo’s legendary number 15 Bafana Bafana jersey. This vintage jersey, which has become a symbol of pride and nostalgia for South African football fans, was personally delivered to Oscar Mbo by the soccer legend himself.

The jersey, part of the Old School sportswear collection, has captured the hearts of sports and fashion enthusiasts alike. Known for recreating iconic pieces from rugby to football, the collection features short-sleeved jerseys priced at R1,999 and long-sleeved ones at R2,499. It remains unclear whether Oscar Mbo purchased or was gifted the jersey, but what’s certain is the sentimental value it holds for him.

Taking to Instagram to share the special moment, Oscar Mbo posted a video of Doctor Khumalo, also known as “16V,” handing over the jersey and signing it. The DJ expressed his deep admiration for the soccer legend, reminiscing about watching Khumalo during his childhood.

“I watched the legendary 16V in my childhood at his prime, and it’s such an honour to have him deliver his iconic shirt for me. I’m framing this one for my Dad. Thank you, Mdokishi, my OG! @dk15_official,” wrote Oscar Mbo in his caption.

The heartfelt post quickly gained traction on social media, amassing thousands of likes and comments from fans. Football enthusiasts praised Doctor Khumalo’s gesture.

Oscar Mbo now joins a list of prominent South Africans who have received the iconic jersey, further cementing its status as a coveted item that bridges the worlds of sports and entertainment.

Doctor Khumalo’s continued efforts to celebrate his legacy through these jerseys have not only kept the spirit of Bafana Bafana’s glory days alive but also connected generations of fans and celebrities to South African football history.

For Oscar, the jersey represents more than just a piece of clothing; it’s a cherished symbol of his admiration for a soccer legend and a way to honor his father by framing it as a gift.
