South African Amapiano sensation and songwriter Boohle has added a new milestone to her career by landing a spot on a reality TV show. Best known for her chart-topping hit “Hamba Wena,” Boohle will star in the much-anticipated series Inside Life: City Girls Are Up. The show, set to premiere on MTV on Saturday, 22 February 2025, will also feature fellow Amapiano vocalist Bontle Smith and popular dancer Thee Buhle.
In an exclusive interview with Daily Sun, Boohle shared her excitement about the opportunity to offer fans an intimate look at her life beyond the music. She explained that the show will delve into the journeys of women in the Amapiano music industry, shedding light on their personal and professional lives.
“I wanted to offer a glimpse into our lives as women in the music industry,” Boohle said. “What has been exciting for me is that people will get to know me, my life, and also understand what goes into creating a reality show. It’s imperative that we fight the narrative of competition among women. This show is about coming together to create something beautiful, and I think it will reflect that.”
Boohle hopes that the series will inspire young women in the industry to embrace their true selves unapologetically. “They should embrace who they are and stay true to themselves,” she said. “There’s no need to pretend for anyone, and they should take pride in their identity, values, and roots.”
Inside Life: City Girls Are Up promises to give viewers an exclusive pass into the highs and lows of navigating the competitive music industry. The show will explore themes such as friendship, perseverance, and breaking stereotypes, as Boohle, Bontle Smith, and Thee Buhle bring authenticity and vulnerability to the screen.
With Inside Life: City Girls Are Up, Boohle is poised to not only entertain but also inspire a new generation of women to carve their own paths unapologetically.
