Kabelo Motha, widely known as Kabza De Small, continues to prove why he’s the “King of Amapiano,” not only through his chart-topping hits but also by empowering other musicians. Following his groundbreaking theater production with an orchestra last year and the launch of his Soweto nightclub, PianoHub, Kabza has introduced a new project, Hubway. This initiative is a platform aimed at amplifying Amapiano talent and creating collaborative opportunities for established and emerging artists.
The launch of Hubway was hosted at PianoHub in Soweto, drawing an impressive crowd that included industry icons like Young Stunna, Maglera Doe Boy, and Thee Buhle. The event also served as a celebration of a collaborative music release featuring standout Amapiano artists such as Kopzz Avenue, Stakev, Bongza, Mdu aka TRP, and Nkulee501 & Skroef28.
“I’m excited to bring PianoHub Friday to the masses,” Kabza shared at the event. “Our artists have worked tirelessly to create something special, and we can’t wait to share it with the world.”
PianoHub, which functions as both a record label and a venue, has become a cornerstone for nurturing the Amapiano genre. Kabza expressed his dedication to developing new talent: “I want to nurture and develop the next generation of talented artists. The Soweto venue is an extension that will bring the best artists in the township together.”
Last Friday, the label released a series of highly anticipated projects from its roster, showcasing the breadth of talent under the PianoHub umbrella:
- Kopzz Avenue – Expensive Tunes (EP)
- Stakev – Timeless (EP)
- Mdu aka TRP – My Prayer (Single) with an upcoming EP available for pre-order
- Nkulee501 & Skroef28 – AUX (EP)
- Bongza – Story to Tell (EP)
- Ceeka RSA – Intwe Mnandi (EP)
The artists expressed gratitude and excitement about reaching new audiences through this initiative. “I’m thankful for the love and support,” Mdu aka TRP shared. “I’m glad people enjoy my music.” Nkulee501 added, “I hope more people join the club and listen to ‘AUX.’”
