South African Amapiano duo TitoM & Yuppe are continuing their rise to the top with an exciting milestone: they’ve been nominated for the prestigious MTV Europe Music Awards (EMAs) 2024. Their viral hit, “Tshwala Bam,” has garnered massive success, and the nomination for Best African Act is a significant recognition of their impact on the African music scene.

The duo took to social media to share the thrilling news. TitoM expressed his excitement and gratitude, writing, “Nominated for MTV EMA for Best African Act, I appreciate everyone for the support. Let’s vote and bring it home. @mtvema S/O to @dbngogo & @tyla.” The message was a shout-out to their fellow South African nominees, DBN Gogo and Tyla, both of whom are also competing for the same category.

This nomination places TitoM & Yuppe alongside some of the biggest names in African music. In the Best African Act category, they face tough competition from Tyla, whose career has skyrocketed with multiple nominations, and DBN Gogo, another prominent force in the Amapiano genre. Other African stars such as Ayra Starr and Diamond Platnumz also join the race, making it a highly competitive category.

The MTV EMAs 2024 will be held at Manchester’s Co-op Live on November 10, a landmark moment for the awards show as it marks its 30th anniversary. This year’s event is expected to be a spectacular celebration of global music talent, with the best artists from all corners of the world coming together. For South African fans, the ceremony will be broadcast live on MTV via DStv Channel 322 and GOtv Channel 72.

With voting already underway, fans are encouraged to show their support for TitoM & Yuppe by casting their votes before the deadline on November 6. This nomination is a testament to how far Amapiano has come, growing from a local phenomenon to a global force. TitoM & Yuppe’s unique sound and ability to create music that resonates with a wide audience has cemented their position as one of the hottest duos in the industry.

As the countdown to the awards continues, the hope is that TitoM & Yuppe will bring home the Best African Act award, further solidifying South Africa’s dominance in the global music scene.
