Shakes & Les’s Album “Mkhaya” Reaches Impressive Milestones Across Africa

Shakes & Les have achieved remarkable success with the release of their highly anticipated album, Mkhaya, which dropped this past Friday. The album is already making waves and receiving widespread recognition, quickly climbing the music charts and reaching significant milestones in just a few days. The duo’s latest project showcases their growth as artists and is resonating with fans not only in South Africa but across the continent.

The album has soared to the top of the charts on Apple Music, where it currently ranks number one in the Dance category. In the overall rankings, Mkhaya sits at an impressive number three on the All Genres chart, cementing Shakes & Les’s place among the most popular artists in the country. The duo’s unique sound, blending soulful Amapiano rhythms with traditional influences, has struck a chord with listeners, propelling the album to chart-topping success.

The impact of Mkhaya goes beyond South Africa’s borders, as the album is also making significant strides in other African countries. In Namibia and Eswatini (Swaziland), Mkhaya has claimed the number one spot, while in Botswana, it ranks at number four. The album has also secured top 10 positions in Zimbabwe (number nine) and Malawi (number 12). Additionally, it continues to perform well in other regions, charting at number 14 in Mozambique, 27 in Kenya, 49 in Uganda, and 56 in Tanzania. These rankings highlight the album’s broad appeal and the love it’s receiving from fans across Africa.

Expressing their gratitude, Shakes & Les took to social media to celebrate the album’s success. The duo shared their excitement with a message, “THANK YOU TO EVERYONE WHO IS STREAMING OUR DEBUT ALBUM, Y’ALL ARE APPRECIATED.
