Podcaster Sfiso Ndlovu has publicly apologized to Amapiano star Uncle Vinny after making defamatory comments on a recent episode of the Piano Pulse podcast, a show under the popular Podcast and Chill network. The apology comes after Uncle Vinny, real name Kabelo Vincent Mpofu, issued a legal letter demanding an apology, retraction, and R500,000 in damages.
Uncle Vinny took to social media to share the apology letter from Sfiso, who admitted his error in discussing Vinny’s alleged involvement with codeine. In his apology, Sfiso expressed deep regret for his unfounded statements, which were made during the podcast episode aired on September 24, 2024.
“I, Sfiso Ndlovu, would like to issue a public apology to Mr. Kabelo Vincent Mpofu, popularly known as ‘Uncle Vinny,’ for the remarks made during a podcast discussion on Podcast and Chill Network on September 24, 2024. My statement regarding Mr. Mpofu’s alleged involvement with codeine was made without proper verification, and I now understand that it was both false and defamatory. I retract my statements fully and unreservedly,” Ndlovu wrote.
The podcaster went on to acknowledge the harm caused by his comments, adding, “I apologize for any harm these remarks may have caused to Mr. Mpofu’s reputation, brand, and personal integrity. It was not my intention to slander, humiliate, or cause distress, and I deeply regret the impact that my words have had.”
While issuing his apology, Ndlovu also raised concerns about Uncle Vinny sharing his personal contact details online. The podcaster expressed frustration over the public post, which has reportedly caused further personal issues for him.
“Additionally, I would like to address the issue of Mr. Mpofu sharing my personal contact details on social media. While I respect his right to defend his reputation, I believe that posting my private information was unnecessary and has led to unintended consequences for me. I kindly request that Mr. Mpofu removes the post containing my personal details from his social media platforms,” Ndlovu added.
As of now, it is unclear whether Uncle Vinny will pursue further legal action regarding the R500,000 damages or whether the matter will be settled amicably. Fans of both parties are watching closely as the situation unfolds.
