South African Amapiano producer and DJ Mdu aka TRP has publicly apologized for missing two scheduled performances due to a car accident. The Lawk Communication team, which manages Mdu, released an official statement explaining that the artist was involved in the accident while en route to perform at Tounel in Botswana and Lucky’s Place in Duduza.

The accident, which occurred over the weekend of September 29 and 30, 2024, forced Mdu to cancel his appearances, leaving fans disappointed. In his heartfelt apology, Mdu expressed his regret for the unforeseen circumstances and addressed his fans and the venues that had booked him.

The statement, shared on his social media platforms, read:

“To Tounel – Botswana, Lucky’s Place – Duduza, and their patrons;

Due to circumstances out of my control, I was unable to honour my performances at Tounel in Botswana and Lucky’s Place in Duduza, which were scheduled for 29 and 30 September 2024.

I understand this may have caused great inconveniences for the establishments, their sponsors, as well as my fans/supporters, therefore, I truly apologize.

My team, together with the teams from these respective venues, are working on new dates for my performances.

I can’t wait to see you all soon!”

Mdu aka TRP, known for his contributions to the Amapiano genre and his dynamic collaborations, is highly respected in the music industry, and his no-shows were understandably disappointing for fans who had been eagerly awaiting his performances. The apology has been met with understanding and support from his fanbase, with many expressing relief that the accident wasn’t more serious.

His management team, Lawk Communication, confirmed that discussions are underway to reschedule the missed performances, assuring fans that Mdu will make it up to them once he is fully recovered.

Despite the unfortunate situation, Mdu’s proactive communication and transparent apology have helped maintain the strong bond he shares with his supporters. Fans are now eagerly awaiting the announcement of the rescheduled dates and looking forward to seeing the artist back on stage.
