Today marks the highly anticipated return of BET Award-winning amapiano queen Sha Sha with her brand-new single, “Ndawana” featuring Kelvin Momo and Sykes, released just in time to become the soundtrack of the summer. This release, her first major single since her critically acclaimed 2022 album “I’m Alive”, reintroduces us to the multifaceted artist who has been evolving her craft, bringing a more mature and soulful sound to the forefront.

Released through Black Major in partnership with Sound On, you can now stream or download “Ndawana” globally here: https://sndo.ffm.to/nxv0ev7

“Ndawana” is a melodic, feel-good love song that seamlessly blends the essence of amapiano with a contemporary, global vibe, encapsulating the warmth and euphoria of summer. With her enchanting voice, Sha Sha sings in her mother tongue, Shona, creating a deep connection with the Zimbabwean diaspora across the globe. This song celebrates the universal theme of love and takes listeners on a journey through its many forms—whether romantic, familial, or divine.

Following the theme of her new single, Sha Sha has started a challenge on TikTok about finding “The One”. Join in on the challenge using #Ndawana #TheOne. You can stitch her video here.

Working alongside amapiano pioneer Kelvin Momo, who has been instrumental in shaping the genre with his latest chart-topping album “Sewe,” Sha Sha has crafted a sound that resonates with both amapiano purists and mainstream music lovers. Sykes, who lends his dynamic and gritty vocals to the track, adds another layer of depth, enhancing the single’s heartfelt and soulful aura. The collaboration between these powerhouse talents resulted in a musical synergy that makes “Ndawana” stand out as a refreshing melodic anthem, destined to be enjoyed by audiences worldwide.

Speaking about the experience, Sha Sha shares, “What makes this song different is that I haven’t worked with Kelvin Momo before. It allowed me to tap into places I hadn’t explored in a while. It’s part of my constant evolution as an artist, and I believe it feels more mature and grown. It speaks to my journey, the work I’ve been doing on myself, and where I’m at right now.”

Reflecting on the studio experience, Sha Sha emphasised the serendipitous connection she felt with Sykes: “Meeting Sykes at the studio was unexpected, but it added so much value to the song. We clicked instantly, and our chemistry was incredible. It was one of those moments where everything just fell into place.”

At its core, “Ndawana” is a love song. As Sha Sha puts it, “What I always hope to convey in my music is that love is real and powerful. It’s not just about romantic love—it’s about all the variations of love that exist in our lives. I hope people feel that when they listen to this song.”

This release marks a pivotal moment in Sha Sha’s journey, as she prepares for an exciting chapter ahead. Having worked with her management team at Black Major over the past two years, Sha Sha is ready to embrace this new era with intention and focus. Fans can look forward to more music and live performances in the coming months, culminating in her highly anticipated album release next year.

“Ndawana,” featuring Kelvin Momo and Sykes, is now available on all streaming platforms. This summer, let Sha Sha’s new single be the anthem that reminds you of the power of love.
