South African vocalist Samthing Soweto recently broke his silence following a public dispute with DJ Maphorisa. In a video shared on social media, Samthing Soweto addressed the ongoing saga, thanking his supporters for standing by him. “What DJ Maphorisa and them did was really wrong,” he began, referring to the exclusion of his name from the track’s official credits and the subsequent removal of his contribution to the song.
The singer made it clear that he felt deeply wronged by the situation but was overwhelmed by the outpouring of support he received from fans and the public. “I really appreciate how you guys came out to support me,” Samthing said. His heartfelt words acknowledged the role his supporters played in defending him amid the controversy, as they took to social media to express their frustration over the perceived injustice.

Despite the public nature of the situation, Samthing made it clear that he would not be engaging in any further public commentary. He stressed that while some artists use such disputes to fuel further tension, he would not take that route.
“I won’t be doing any interviews or further public statements about this,” Samthing said in his video, choosing to put the matter to rest instead of perpetuating a feud. He acknowledged that everyone is entitled to their opinion and allowed space for different viewpoints, even though he strongly believed that what happened was unjust.
