South African singer Tyla has announced the cancellation of her next ten scheduled performances due to health concerns. The Grammy Award Winner, known for her captivating performances and powerful voice, shared the news on her social media platforms, expressing her regret and the necessity of focusing on her recovery.
“It saddens me to let you know I will no longer be able to perform over the next 10 days… I am currently doing physical therapy and easing back into doing shows consistently,” Tyla wrote. Her health issues have led to the cancellation of performances at major festivals including Roskilde, Palmesus, Open’er, Saga, and Montreux Jazz.
Tyla reassured her fans that she is committed to making a full recovery and is working diligently to return to the stage as soon as possible. “I am doing everything I can to get on as many stages while simultaneously recovering fully,” she said. She also expressed her gratitude to her supporters for their patience and understanding during this challenging time. “Thank you for your continued support and understanding. I can’t wait to see you all soon.”
The announcement comes on the heels of Tyla’s stunning performance at the recent BET Awards, where she won accolades for Best New Artist and Best International Act. Her performance at the event was highly praised, with Billboard ranking it as the third best of the entire show. This recognition added to her growing reputation as a dynamic and talented performer on the global stage.
Earlier this year, in March, Tyla also had to cancel her performance at Coachella and postpone her World Tour due to an undisclosed injury. Despite these setbacks, her resilience and determination to recover fully before returning to the stage have been evident.
The music industry can be relentless, and her choice to take a step back and focus on recovery emphasises the importance of self-care and health for artists. Fans worldwide are eagerly awaiting her return and hopeful that once she has fully recovered, she will continue to deliver the electrifying performances she is known for.
