American singer-songwriter Akon recently expressed his heartfelt admiration for the late South African rapper and dancer Costantinos Tsobanoglou, popularly known as Costa Titch. In a candid interview on the “Podcast and Chill” with MacG and Sol Phenduka, Akon shared his experiences working with Costa Titch and shed light on the rapper’s unreleased projects.

Before his untimely passing in March 2023, Costa Titch collaborated with several prominent artists. He worked with late South African rappers Riky Rick and AKA on the remake of “Nkalakatha,” originally by Mandoza. He also released a single with Akon titled “Big Flexa (Remix),” which showcased his versatility and talent.

“When you looked at how he performed, the way he danced, you couldn’t tell me that Costa was not an African,” Akon said during the interview, reflecting on Costa Titch’s remarkable stage presence and deep connection to African culture.

Akon emphasized the late rapper’s potential to shape the future of music and culture in Africa. He highlighted Costa Titch’s unique talent and significant impact on the industry, noting that Costa was one of the first artists from South Africa signed to his record label, Konvict Kulture. Akon revealed that Costa had a “recorded album ready to go,” underscoring the rapper’s dedication and creative output before his passing.

When Sol Phenduka inquired about the potential release of the album, Akon responded, “That is for the mother to decide,” showing his respect for Costa Titch’s family and their wishes. Akon emphasized that he wants Costa’s legacy to be built in a manner that aligns with his mother’s vision, highlighting the importance of honoring the late artist’s memory and contributions in a respectful way.

Costa Titch’s passing left a void in the South African music scene, but his legacy continues to inspire fans and fellow musicians. His energetic performances, unique style, and cultural impact have cemented his place in the hearts of many. The possibility of his unreleased album offers a glimmer of hope for fans eager to experience more of his artistry.

Akon’s heartfelt words and respect for Costa Titch’s legacy resonate deeply, reflecting the profound impact the late rapper had on those who knew him and his fans worldwide. As the music community awaits further developments, Costa Titch’s legacy remains a testament to his talent, passion, and dedication to his craft.
