Amapiano DJ and producer Mr JazziQ, real name Tumelo Manyoni, is preparing to undergo a lie detector test following allegations of sexual harassment made by YFM freelance content producer Ngcebo Mcobothi. The allegations have stirred significant controversy, prompting Mr JazziQ to take steps to clear his name.
Ngcebo had recently took to her social media timeline to accuse Mr JazziQ of sexually harassing her. She claimed that the incident occurred on May 23 at the YFM offices, where Mr JazziQ was scheduled for an interview. According to Ngcebo, Mr JazziQ grabbed her waist and attempted to kiss her forcefully while they were in an elevator.
In response to these serious allegations, Mr JazziQ’s management issued a statement vehemently denying the claims. To further assert his innocence, a source close to the amapiano star revealed to TshisaLIVE that Mr JazziQ has volunteered to take a lie detector test. The source emphasized that all Mr JazziQ and his team want is for Ngcebo to prove her allegations by also agreeing to take a lie detector test, especially since there are no cameras in the YFM lifts to provide concrete evidence.
“Mr JazziQ and team want is for her to prove he tried to kiss her and sexually assault her by taking a lie detector test, as there are no cameras in the YFM lifts and Mr JazziQ’s determined to prove his innocence,” the source stated.
To support his case, Mr JazziQ and his team have requested CCTV footage from YFM’s station manager, Heseena Cassim. However, it has been confirmed that no cameras are installed in the lift where the incident allegedly took place. In an effort to provide some transparency, Mr JazziQ shared footage showing him with Robot Boii, PR specialist Lwazi Zondo, and Ngcebo before entering the lift with his videographer.
Additionally, one of Mr JazziQ’s team members has already undergone a lie detector test, the results of which were shared with TshisaLIVE. The test included questions such as, “Did you see Tumelo in any way touching Ngcebo in an inappropriate way in the lift on May 23, 2024?”; “Did you see Tumelo trying to kiss Ngcebo in the lift on May 23, 2024?”; and, “Are you lying about anything regarding the incident?” All responses to these questions were negative, with the lie detector indicating no deception.
Mr JazziQ’s decision to take a lie detector test is a clear attempt to dispel the allegations and restore his reputation. As the situation unfolds, it remains to be seen whether Ngcebo will agree to take a lie detector test herself and how this controversy will impact both parties involved.
