Amapiano musician Lady Du, whose real name is Duduzile Ngwenya, is setting ambitious goals for 2024. The 32-year-old businesswoman has revealed plans to employ 100 people this year as she expands her entrepreneurial ventures. Known for her vibrant music career, Lady Du is making significant strides in the business world, specifically in the beauty industry.

Having officially ventured into the beauty sector in 2023, Lady Du opened a salon that has been thriving. Recently, she announced the construction of her second business franchise in Vosloorus. Her aim is not just to expand her business but also to create substantial employment opportunities. “My goal for this year is to have 100 employees. I’m currently on 32!!! Building my second franchise in Vosloorus. I build salons from scratch, I own the properties, so my employees earn a lot,” she shared on Instagram.

Lady Du’s hiring philosophy focuses on character and skill rather than formal qualifications. She believes in giving opportunities to those who show potential and dedication. “We are living in a country where opportunities are not given to people who have the potential of being great at something just because they are not ‘qualified.’ Not everyone comes from the same background. I’ve trained 8 of my employees, if I were to post their before and after pictures you’d be shocked,” she explained.

Her approach to employee welfare is comprehensive, emphasizing financial, mental, and emotional support. Lady Du ensures her staff feel valued and supported through various initiatives. “I pay transport for my staff, buy them gifts on their birthdays, we have mental health meetings, donations for funerals should one lose someone, look after each other. We’ve created a healthy working environment. I wish it for every business,” she wrote.

The successful musician and entrepreneur believes that treating employees well leads to greater loyalty and productivity. “Look after your staff, trust me you’ll never work a day in your life!!! They’ll do anything you require because they feel safe,” she added.

Lady Du’s passion for both her music and business ventures is evident. As a South African musician known for her captivating tunes, infectious beats, and expressive vocals, she seamlessly blends electronic and Amapiano rhythms, creating a unique sound that resonates with many. Her entrepreneurial spirit is equally dynamic, driven by a desire to uplift others and foster a positive work environment.

With her goal to employ 100 people this year, Lady Du is not only expanding her business but also making a significant impact on her community by providing meaningful employment opportunities. Her journey serves as an inspiration to many, demonstrating the power of hard work, dedication, and a commitment to empowering others.
