Tumelo Manyoni, popularly known as Mr JazziQ, has responded to allegations of assault and harassment raised by drive-time show producer Ngcebo Mcobothi. Mcobothi made these allegations on her Twitter feed, claiming that Mr JazziQ sexually assaulted her in an elevator on their way to YFM, a popular radio station.
“I’m so triggered! Not me being sexually harassed by one of your faves after rejecting his advances. This guy literally grabbed me by the waist trying to kiss me ngenkani the way I had to push him away from me lapho we’re in a lift!” She tweeted.

The accusations quickly went viral, prompting Mr JazziQ to issue a statement denying the claims. In his response, Mr JazziQ firmly stated that no such incident occurred. He explained that it was impossible for an assault to have taken place because he was never alone with Mcobothi in the elevator. According to Mr JazziQ, there were five other people present during the brief elevator ride.
Mr JazziQ’s statement read, “Upon seeing news of the alleged assault on the said social media platform, Mr JazziQ and his team promptly contacted YFM’s station manager, Haseena Cassim, requesting CCTV footage of the alleged incident. The basis for this request was for Mr JazziQ to offer a detailed response to the damaging allegations by providing irrefutable evidence that they have no basis in truth or fact.”
However, YFM’s response stated that the elevator in question did not have any cameras, leaving Mr JazziQ with limited options to prove his innocence. “The response by YFM has left Mr JazziQ with no option but to utilize the other available evidence at his disposal, recognizing the limitations it poses as it does not capture what transpired inside the lift,” the statement continued.
To support his claims, Mr JazziQ provided video evidence from his videographer. This footage, which has since been published, shows Mcobothi entering the building and the elevator along with Mr JazziQ, his team, and another artist. The video captures Mr JazziQ taking a picture with a fan after Mcobothi entered the lift ahead of him. Moments later, the group is seen exiting the elevator, with Mr JazziQ and his PR manager walking behind Mcobothi as they head into the studio.
Mr JazziQ’s response underscores his denial of the allegations and his commitment to clearing his name amidst the serious accusations made against him.
