Lady Du, a prominent figure in the South African music scene, recently celebrated a remarkable milestone: 22 years in the industry. In a heartfelt social media post, she expressed her gratitude to her followers and supporters, reflecting on her journey that began at the tender age of nine.

“I’ve been in the music business for exactly 22 years!!!! I started when I was 9 years old. I only have pictures to prove it since social media wasn’t available,” she shared, emphasizing the longevity of her career despite the lack of digital documentation from her early days.

Lady Du highlighted her unwavering dedication to authenticity and faith. She spoke about the guidance she’s received over the years on how to manage her brand and social media presence but has consistently chosen to stay true to herself. “I’ve never changed the person I am since then. The best way to live life is through God,” she stated. Her reliance on divine guidance has been a cornerstone of her career, shaping her decisions and interactions in the industry.

The singer’s impressive resume includes collaborations with major brands and appearances on international billboards in South Africa, New York, and London. She’s been featured in Levi’s ads globally and represented numerous brands, all while maintaining her authenticity. “I am an artist that’s obeying God’s law. I don’t care how the industry is set up; I care about how God views me,” she affirmed, highlighting her confidence and self-assurance.

Lady Du also opened up about the challenges she has faced, including dealing with scammers and those who have exploited her. Despite these setbacks, she has managed her career independently for the past two years, building a legacy based on resilience and faith. “When everyone around me was buying luxury brands, I put my head down and said I will build a legacy for myself,” she recounted, emphasizing her commitment to creating a sustainable future rather than succumbing to industry pressures.

Her message to her supporters is one of self-belief and perseverance. “Believe in yourself! Believe in your dreams. If it looks small to someone else it’s fine; you are not doing it for anyone but yourself!!!!!” she encouraged, concluding her post with a heartfelt appreciation for her fans.

Known for her captivating tunes, infectious beats, and expressive vocals, Lady Du’s music continues to resonate with audiences. Her journey is a testament to her talent, imagination, and dedication, making her a standout artist in the Amapiano and electronic music genres. As she marks 22 years in the industry, Lady Du’s impact and influence show no signs of waning, promising even greater achievements in the years to come.
