Focalistic, the Straata President, recently opened up about his deep-rooted passion for fashion, shedding light on the intersection between style and music in his life. Following his campaign with Adidas, the Pretoria-born artist shared insights into his connection with fashion, emphasizing its significance as a form of self-expression.

The Adidas campaign, launched in April last year, featured Focalistic paying homage to three iconic Adidas footwear styles within a South African context. This initiative aimed to celebrate the role of street culture and subcultures, seamlessly blending fashion and music in Focalistic’s unique style.

Taking to Instagram, Focalistic articulated the profound influence of fashion on his upbringing in Pretoria. He reflected on the importance of clothing as a means of self-expression in his community, where phrases like “Kota ke Kota Charle” and “Full Sette Lepara” resonated deeply. Focalistic expressed gratitude for the ability to translate his upbringing and cultural influences into his music, describing it as a magical experience that he cherishes deeply.

“Growing up, CLOTHES was one of the most important tools to EXPRESS ourselves in Pitori! “Kota ke Kota Charle”. “Full Sette Lepara”. Being able to Translate how I was raised in the MUSIC and bring these two worlds together, is a blessing that I never take for granted. It’s magical! That’s where you find the sweet spot of ORIGINAL.
