DJ Stokie Attains platinum and gold milestones

DJ Stokie the prolific self-taught music maestro born Setoki Mbatha, has achieved remarkable success with multiple albums and singles reaching gold and platinum status, solidifying his position as a prominent figure in the South African music scene. Known for his mastery of Amapiano dance mixes, DJ Stokie has created a distinctive sound that is deep, feel-good, and soulful. His sets have become a staple in the South African music scene, drawing crowds and creating an atmosphere of joy and celebration.

The artist’s impressive discography includes two gold-certified albums:

●     My Journey – Gold (18,753 units)

●     My Journey Continues – Gold (18,148 units)

In addition to his albums, DJ Stokie has garnered significant recognition for his hit singles, with several achieving gold and platinum status:

●     Ama-international– Gold (13,212 units)

●     Aw’ufaniNabanye – Gold (11,069 units)

●     Awukhuzeki– 5* Platinum (103,817 units)

●     Feelings– Gold (14,726 units)

●     Ipianoe’Soweto – 2* Platinum (44,708 units)

●     SokeS’bone – Platinum (38,904 units)

●     Superman– 4* Platinum (80,496 units)

As DJ Stokie continues to break barriers and set new standards in Amapiano, his success story unfolds with platinum and gold plaques, proving that he is a force to be reckoned with in the music world. DJ Stokie said, “Nothing is impossible if when you put God first.”

DJ Stokie whose real name is SetokiMbatha started his career in the 90’s from his room in Mzimhlophe. The self-taught music maestro is inspired by the likes of Soweto’s top DJ’s; Mpopo,Fetsi, Ma-Leven, Mahlomola, Mdoo, amongst others. Stokie’s success traces backto 2006 when he became a finalist in the Mad Half Hour, a feature on Joburg’s popular youth station, YFM. The station’s listeners were inspired by his piano fingers and Stokie found himself gigging in townships across  Johannesburg.
