Pic! Uncle Makes The Cover Of GQ Magazine.Lungelihle Zwane, formally known as Uncle Waffles, is at the forefront of the music scene through her contributions to DJing and producing. Through the popular South African Amapiano genre, she’s generated a shift to dance floors and stages across the globe.

Lungelihle Zwane, popularly known as Uncle Waffles who has been featured as the latest cover star on the 12th birthday issue of Africa’s most influential business magazine, Forbes Africa. In this issue, Forbes Africa is set to honour the movers and shakers in Africa’s thriving music sector.

“Zwane, also known as Uncle Waffles, is a true depiction of Generation Z, the demographic cohort shaped by the digital age and shifting financial landscape”,read the captionby Forbes Africa.

When speaking to Forbes Africa, Uncle Waffles delves into her unplanned success and fulfilling her destiny. Speaking to Forbes Africa about her trending accomplishments, Zwane says becoming an artist was not her initial plan. Destiny ordained it. And how.”Uncle Waffles triumphed over this massive accolade, expressing her gratitude as she shared her stunning cover. “What do I even say, how do I explain that I’m on the @forbesafrica cover. God, thank you, for always choosing me. This journey continues to be a journey of the impossible and this is still only the beginning.”, she captioned.

Initially, Waffles never dreamed of becoming a DJ, but while working for a local Eswatini TV station in 2020, she became mesmerized by the art form. She just wanted to learn, so a DJ who often visited the office dedicated his time to teaching her, not knowing she could fall in love with something she wasn’t into. “He said you only need two months to learn; the rest is just practice. So it just went from randomly asking someone one day to me spending nine months – eight hours every single day learning,” she explains to GU.
