Daliwonga Explains Two Afrobeats Songs In His New Album.Daliwonga (born in Diepkloof, Soweto) is a South African poetic singer. He is popular for using South Africa’s fastest-growing electronic-music movement Amapiano in his works The talented singer is loved for his melodic voice and is making a name for himself.
South African vocalist and Amapiano star, Daliwonga has released his second album titled ‘DALI DALI’. The album marks the hitmaker’s return since the release of ‘Chameleon’ in 2020.This Amapiano album is made up a variety of sounds including Afro-soul, private school Amapiano and Isgubhu. “This is an Amapiano album but I wanted to also prove to the people that I can do this and that, that’s why there’s 2 tracks that are Afrobeats on the album,” says Daliwonga.
During the album’s listening session at Artistry, Daliwonga expressed that the album’s title represents both him and his twin brother Dalindyebo Matiwane, hence the double delight title, ‘DALI DALI’. “This came as a nickname at first, then when I decided to have an album and name it ‘DALI DALI’, I just thought it’s going to have more meaning to it.”
He has also featured in several prominent Amapiano joints. He features includes in Hamba Nga two, Friends With Benefits, and Yelele. He has also collaborated with other artists and big names in the music industry. Daliwonga had collaboration with Luu Nineleven on a project – Sematasatasa.
