Shaka iLembe Actor Lemogang Tsipa Set To Jump Into Amapiano. Shaka iLembe star Lemogang Tsipa, known for portraying the role of Shaka, is gearing to launch his music career. The actor, who has been a drummer from a young age, said he was ready to expand his brand as a performing artist.

“I’m moving into the music space as a performing artist so people can expect that. I’m not leaving acting,” he said in an interview with DJ Fresh.

Speaking to the BubblegumClub, Lemogang said he had already recorded 100 songs and couldn’t wait for people to hear them. “I’ve got a lot of music I’ve been working on. A lot of people don’t know I’ve been a musician longer than I’ve been an actor. Hopefully, I will be able to do both and balance both. There are great examples of people who have done it successfully. I see myself being able to do it. I’m passionate about both.”

He’s promised to make a range of music, dabbling in genres including maskandi, amapiano and afro beats, among others.“I’m making a song for everybody, so there’s no excuse. Everybody should have one of my songs on their playlist at some point.”

Set in the 1700s, Shaka ilembe tells the story of the making of the iconic African king, with iterations from his early childhood through to adulthood. The production has been six years in the making, consulting historians, academics, and family descendants, including the incumbent King Misuzulu ka Zwelithini, Prince Mangosuthu Buthelezi, as well as the late King Goodwill Zwelithini
