Maphorisa Shares Advice For New Artists

Maphorisa Shares Advice For New Artists. Themba Sekowe is a South African DJ, record producer and singer – affectionately known as DJ Maphorisa. The award-winning DJ was born on 15 November 1987 in Soshanguve, Pretoria, South Africa.He has fast become a force to reckon with in the entertainment industry. DJ Maphorisa is said to be the brains behind the amapiano movement.

Dj Maphorisa took to social media to warn new artists in the South African industry.The music producer is known to be an OG in the game and he’s helped nurture talents.

Taking to Twitter, the music star expresses how heartbroken he is with new artists who get excited over hype.“Hype kills to our new artist shame,” he wrote.

Phori revealed that Mjakes from Kalawa Jazmee gave him his big break and told him that he had talent that needed to be nurtured. He shares that his love for Amapiano was influenced by his travels.“I’ve travelled to different countries and got to experience different beats and dances. That has helped with my music.”

DJ Maphorisa said even though he’s making a lot of money, there’s always room for more.“Yes, I’m making a lot of money, but I believe that I can make more with the current moves that I’m making. There’s a lot of money to be made in this genre, but some artists are stuck in their own ways and they don’t want to explore,” he told News24.
