Focalistic Reveals Where He Got His Stage Name And What It Means. Amapiano, the popular South African music genre, has been dominating the music industry with its infectious rhythms and grooves. The genre has become a global sensation.

Focalistic (real name Lethabo Sebetso) is arguably one of the top breakout African stars of the past two years, with a string of hits that have gone multiplatinum, epic collaborations with music industry heavyweights such as Davido and Cassper Nyovest.

Explaining where he got his stage name Focalistic and what is means, President ya Strata said: “I got it from my older cousin, who used to listen to a lot of hip-hop. We used to talk about my vision for my music career, and I’dtell him what I wanted to do. He then called me Focalisticcataclism.I asked him what that meant, and he said, ‘A focused person who’s going to change the world and how people view things.’ I guess he spoke it into existence. The name was a bit too long, so I cut it, started using it, and it’s stuck with me. It makes sense now I think about it.”

Since he first burst onto the scene with his platinum-selling single “Ke Star”, the 27-year-old has been making major strides, not only in SA, but across the globe.
