5 Interesting Facts About Vocalist Nana Atta. From starting her music journey as a young child to being featured in one of the biggest amapiano songs ‘Mama’ by sino Msolo, Nana’s music has seen an evolution to the point where she says it’s difficult for her to align herself to one specific sound.

Here are 5 things to know about Nana:

1 Nana Atta, real name Sinenhlanhla Mthembu, is the oldest of five children born in Stanger and raised by a single mother in Verulam, North of Durban.

2. She would soon become leader of her school choir and later, at 23, grow into a powerful R&B and hip hop artist signed to Universal Music Group

3. She began her musical journey at the age of 11 when she wrote her first song for the family choir.

4. Nana’s wide range and sassy, unapologetic lyrics are what immediately strike most people. Her soulful performances have seen her share a stage with the likes of Riky Rick, Aewon Wolf, Lira and the legendary Ringo Madlingozi.

5. Music isn’t the only avenue the talented creative is hoping to break into. Nana shares how she hopes to tap into more of her creative writing skills.“Aside from a lot of features that are going to drop soon, I’ve got projects of my own. I’m not just a songwriter, I also write stories, like short stories, I’m a very imaginative writer. So, I write cartoons – like cartoon series, I’m currently working on my first one that I get to work with to the end. I have many ideas around that but I’m currently working on a cartoon series based off of my recent EP, which was dropped last year September titled Emakhosini … so that’s one thing to look out for. Otherwise, I’ll be dropping music soon, I don’t have dates as yet but definitely more music coming, I’m pretty sure before the release of the series. There’s going to be a lot of music coming out from me,” she told Drum magazine.
