1 Nana Atta, real name Sinenhlanhla Mthembu, is the oldest of five children born in Stanger and raised by a single mother in Verulam, North of Durban.
2. She would soon become leader of her school choir and later, at 23, grow into a powerful R&B and hip hop artist signed to Universal Music Group
3. She began her musical journey at the age of 11 when she wrote her first song for the family choir.

Nana shares how she hopes to tap into more of her creative writing skills.“Aside from a lot of features that are going to drop soon, I’ve got projects of my own. I’m not just a songwriter, I also write stories, like short stories, I’m a very imaginative writer. So, I write cartoons – like cartoon series, I’m currently working on my first one that I get to work with to the end. I have many ideas around that but I’m currently working on a cartoon series based off of my recent EP, which was dropped last year September titled Emakhosini … so that’s one thing to look out for. Otherwise, I’ll be dropping music soon, I don’t have dates as yet but definitely more music coming, I’m pretty sure before the release of the series. There’s going to be a lot of music coming out from me,” she told Drum magazine.
