Here’s Why SA Amapiano Fans Are Blaming Focalistic For Nigerians Claiming The Genre. Every other week a heated debate happens on Twitter about which country has had the most impact on the Amapiano genre globally between South Africa and Nigeria.

Whilst there’s no debate on where the Amapiano genre originated (South Africa if you were not sure), there’s debate on which country made it a global phenomenon. The current debate comes after American rapper Swae Lee who is currently in Nigeria tweeted his excitement about jumping onto Amapiano, his tweet ended with a Nigerian flag which fans took as him believing that’s where Amapiano originates.

The MajorLeague twins even responded to the rapper’s tweet correcting him that he had used the wrong flag. “Wrong flag bro…. Hoping you meant a SA Flag,” the duo tweeted.

The tweet sparked outrage from SA Amapiano fans who then shifted all the blame to one person….Focalistic. The singer came under fire for having collaborated with Nigeria’s Davido on ‘Ke Star’ remix, which was the first Amapiano song to go viral globally and get international celebs attention and win awards. SA fans seem adamant that had Focalistic not removed Vigro Deep and replaced him with Davido in the remix, there would not be a debate on where Amapiano belongs. Critics feel strongly that the collaboration and its success opened the door for Nigerians to claim having made the genre a global success.

Check out some of the tweets below:

I blame Focalistic 😭😭 because now Nigerians think they made Amapiano popular

I still can’t believe Focalistic removed Vigro deep from “Ke Star remix” and featured Davido, look at how that country is obsessed with our genre now 💔

Nna I blame Focalistic. If he didn’t add Davido on that track we wouldn’t be here.

You see, I told you it was that asake wack ass nigga who put log drum in his crap shit songs and ran wit it… But we all know who to blame for all this…. FOCALISTIC https://t.co/8MtOHBH7Qy

Yoh I’ve never hated Focalistic so much like today.

I don’t just wanna drag him, I wanna find him and beat him😭

In all this Amapiano saga, focalistic is the one that should be blame. Nigga fucked up the moment he removed Vigro from Ke star and featured Davido

FOCA IS A SELL OUT
