As her name gets bigger and she gets more exposure, Uncle Waffles is also being introduced to new audiences and some of them are not as warm towards the DJ as she might have been used to. After recently visiting luxury jewellery brand, Icebox in Atlanta where she was given a private tour, the company posted a video of Uncle Waffles on their Instagram account and the comments have been a mess.
Americans have been trolling the DJ for the wig she was wearing in the video and some were confused on who she is and why she was getting the special treatment. One celebrity who has come to Uncle Waffles’ defense is Ntsiki Mazwai which is shocking considering how she feels about wigs.
Ntsiki took to twitter posting a video in which she defended Uncle Waffle from Americans saying they are not the ones to judge. “Wait, wait. I’ve got a message for the American women trolling Uncle Waffles. You’re fighting about fake hair. You’re the only race in the world with two types of hair, on your head. Two types… so you’re in no position to point fingers at anybody’s hair at this stage. Love your own hair first. Big up Uncle Waffles, you’re killing it baby girl…Boom,” Ntsiki said.
It’s been an interesting few weeks for the international DJ who got her first BET Awards nomination and also performed for Spotify in France. Whilst the high were pretty high, she also got backlash not only for her wig but from some critics who felt some type of way about her representing Swaziland on her BET win.
