Dancer and choreographer Bontle Modiselle, known for her incredible talent and captivating performances, recently embarked on a journey to Sweden to hold an Amapiano dance workshop. With a passion for sharing her skills and an unwavering dedication to her craft, Modiselle brought the vibrant South African dance style to a diverse group of participants in Sweden. The workshop was a testament to her commitment to spreading the joy of dance and bridging cultural gaps through movement.
Known for its infectious beats, groovy rhythms, and energetic dance moves, Amapiano has become a global phenomenon. Well celebrated choreographer, Bontle Modiselle, recognized its potential to captivate audiences beyond South Africa’s borders. In collaboration with @afiapresent, Modiselle organized a series of Amapiano dance workshops in Sweden. The workshops aimed to introduce participants to the fundamentals of Amapiano dance, focusing on bounce, groove, feeling, and foundation. With her expertise and infectious enthusiasm, Modiselle guided the participants, starting from the very beginning and gradually building their skills and confidence.
Sharing her passion for dance with a diverse group of people in Sweden was an incredibly special experience for Bontle as dancers from various backgrounds and cultures came together, they discovered a common language in the movement. “To lead, to guide, and to teach is the highest honor. Here, trust is given for the respect that is earned. A snippet of the Amapiano Dance Workshops I have been teaching in Sweden,” she shared.
Immersed in her experience in Sweden, Modiselle dedicated herself wholeheartedly to the workshops and the participants. While Modiselle focused on her mission to share Amapiano dance with the world, she also nurtured the curious kid within her. She emphasized the importance of never growing old or tired, constantly seeking new knowledge and asking questions. This spirit of curiosity fuels her creativity and ensures that she continues to evolve as a dancer and choreographer.
She mentioned, “I’ve been so deeply immersed in my experience here, I haven’t had the time to share anything. I miss home, but home is with me. I’m a lady on a mission, handling the business, while the curious kid in me won’t stop asking questions. May she never grow old or tired…
