‘The Wife’ Actor Sipho Ndlovu Taps Into Amapiano. Another SA star has ventured into Amapiano. Back in 2021, actor Sipho Ndlovu ventured into music and released a song titled “Amathanga Amhlophe” which he admits wasn’t pushed and done properly.
Now Ndlovu is back on the music scene tapping into Amapiano with his new single in July titled “Malini” featuring Tweestgottahalla and TxPMD. He told DRUM that the song is about the cost of love with old school kwaito influences and the log drums which makes it an Amapiano song. He shared what made Amapiano easy to tap into saying he believes Amapiano doesn’t require one to sing a lot and that what is more important in the genre is the beat and lyric doesn’t have to be that deep.
“I have chosen to tap on the Amapiano genre because I am full of energy. Always when I go out, I fight the urge to dance, but I end up dancing. So, I thought I should start making music so that when I use my energy, I use it on something that is good and gives me revenue,” he told DRUM.
“Amapiano is a big existing genre, and I can’t say I am bringing something new to the genre but what I am coming up with will feel new because I will be the one bringing it. As someone who is known as an actor and known for portraying strong characters and now I will be dancing a lot because every time I will be on stage I guarantee to bring some hot dance moves. My dance moves are very unique and always shock people,” he added.
