JazziQ On New Amapiano Trends He Hates

JazziQ On New Amapiano Trends He Hates. JazziQ has had a successful journey so far in his career. First as one half of the JazziDisciples duo and then as a solo artists. He also helped other Amapaino artists launch their music careers likwe Mpura. With all that to back him up, JazziQ says he now considers himself a grootman in Amapiano and had some things to get off his chest when he went on POPCast.

Asked if he notices certain trends and music made by fellow Amapaino artists that he felt were not up to standard with original Amapiano, JazziQ didn’t hold back listing what he feels is wrong with the new wave.

“A lot, a lot. You pick it up, every time you’re just like…. you see also majority of the [Amapiano] songs on TikTok [are] not the ones. They are not making them for TikTok, they just end up there because they want them to get pushed but as soon as the final product comes out it’s just like [not good]. Right now people are pushing quantity over quality and quantity..ah my brother come on… the stuff that I’ve released you can listen to it from five years back or whateverbut [now] there are songs that you listen to and you’re just like, ‘are you gonna play that song with your kid sitting in the car, two years down?’ Think about it,” JazziQ said.

Asked what he feels is the problem between the sound and lyrics or whether it’s both, JazziQ responded saying, “There’s a lot of things that go into a song to make it a complete song, you know. You might find elements that work on a Hip-Hop song and you want to implement it on a piano track and it’s just like hmm…it just messes up the whole thing. You find that your song is actually good but I always tell the boys there’s nothing wrong with asking for assistance or help. But now the problem is we’re dealing with a lot of egos, it becomes a situation that is uncontrollable because everyone does whatever they feel like is working.”
