“No Man Should Ever Come For A Woman’s Bread And Butter” – Lady Du On K.O Matter. Lady Du has come out to defend herself after a video of her interview on the YouTube music blog, “The Episode”, caused controversy on social media on Tuesday.During the interview, the amapiano vocalist appeared to fire back at K.O’s infamous diss track in which he called her out for her criticism of his hit single “Sete” for the first time.
She further took to social media to explain to any controversies, clearing that she never said she was bigger than K.O. “I never said I was bigger than KO let’s get that correct first, I said the reason I didn’t drop a diss track was because I checked the numbers on my streams and since he said I did nothing with myself, I was happy to see that some of the songs I was on were higher in streams,” she wrote.
She further stated that no man should come after a woman’s bread and that she pushes her music without a record label. “No man should ever come for a woman’s bread and butter no matter what the situation is, we all don’t have the same set up, I’m not signed to no record label that helps push my music so yes my music might be dated but it did what it had to. I respect people and educate where I can.”
She also said she will continue to fight for her name and brand if they’re being compromised. “I m8 not be your favourite artist, I might not write songs you love, I’m human, I’m a mother of a child that needs a healthy living environment, so yes I’ll fight for that, I’ll make sure I secure it, becoz that’s my blood sweat and tears. I’m not beefing with anyone I’m working.”
She thanked the interview she recently did with The Episode saying it helped explain the situation better. “After all this let’s continue with our lives, we are fighting way more than just ourselves in this life. We have so much to be grateful for. I am an independent artist! My success might not look like success to you but it means the world to me. 🙏🙏🙏 that interview is fruitful,” she concluded.
