Daliwonga To Give ‘Re Lokeleng’ Song Royalties To Popular Tik Toker. Daliwonga is an Amapiano singer from South Africa. He rose to stardom in 2019 for his collaboration with the biggest names in the industry. Interestingly, he has since carved a niche for himself in the industry. At the moment, his songs are getting substantial airplay on most radios, not only in South Africa but also on the entire continent.
Daliwonga teased a track titled ‘Relokeleng’, a famous quote by popular Tik Toker. Following being called out by Black Twitter for straling the Tik Toker’s fame, Daliwonga has come out to share that he will be giving the royalties to the Tik Tok star. “The Re Lokeleng video was trending in the streets and we were in studio and decided to have fun and we made a song about Re Lokeleng. We posted on social media and I saw the comments. I had not written anything for that song at the time but after seeing the comments, I decided to write this thing. I’m not going to let you guys put me down.”
Mas Musiq and Daliwonga were preparing to take up Mzansi arena as the they are set to dish out a tune tagged Are Lokeleng. The content creator Dimakatso Ephesia went viral on social media following her trendy “Re Squeezeng in, re lokeleng” video. However, it seems her video is being used for marketing purposes by brands and artists.
Recently, Daliwonga revealed that he was working on a new song inspired by Dimakatso, and he got called out for not crediting her. “Everytime there’s a trend created by “regular people”, it ends up on a piano track. Hamba Ha, Re squeezeng, Inganekwane etc- I never see those creators in these credits or videos. Artists are stealing from unknown creators & we’re not speaking up for them. Please credit the kids,” wrote influencer Sis Gugu.
Daliwonga said his intentions were not to sideline her. “The song is still there and it is going to come out at some point. I was doing it for the people, my true fans, the people who actually follow Daliwonga. We can’t just use her line and then not put her on. We are going to drop the song and we are not going to take anything from the royalties,” he told Sowetan.
