Pic! Lady Du Prepares To Launch ‘Wawa La Beauty’ Salon. Lady Du, real name Dudu Ngwenya, first learned how to play at the tender age of nine. Since then and during her early adult life, she had been trying to get a successful break into the music industry.
A few weeks ago, Lady Du announced that she is venturing into the beauty business and it’s one she hopes will revive the kasi economy. She took to her Instagram timeline to say this has always been her dream and now she is ready for the venue to have staff and start functioning. “I don’t think you guys know all the things I studied, beauty being one of them. After school I studied beauty, travelled the world working on a cruise ship [and] my biggest dream was to own a salon. Music captured me, I focused on it, but now that I can do both, I took my savings, bought a house in the hood so I don’t have to pay rent. I wanted to bring the Sandton experience back to the hood.”
In preparation of the launch and sharing progress of how far she is with setting it up, the amapiano star share a snap of the salon. “Dreams delayed are not dreams denied, right after school I traveled the world working in beauty on a cruise ship. I’ve always wanted to open a salon in the hood giving them the luxury experience of the cruise ship. I hate debt so at the time I didn’t have money to buy property so I thought ok I’ll put that dream aside and focus on my other passion, (MUSIC) that’s what I did.”
“When I started making real money in 2021, I focused on the most important part, opening businesses, I sacrificed soooo much of what I wanted for myself, I built rental apartments in the hood, I finished that project, I remember telling my manager that I’m a fully qualified beautician and this year won’t end till I open a luxury salon in the hood, he said why the hood and my answer was, as a young girl people made me think going to a mall or town was a good business idea. I started realising that the only reason people go to town is because the hood doesn’t have the luxury experience ❤️❤️ so I bought property, Broke it and turned it into a salon ❤️❤️❤️❤️ yesterday showing my manager progress he literally got emotional ❤️❤️❤️ we did it FAM. Because I’ve built a brand for myself with a powerful tag the name of my salon Is WAWA LA BEAUTY. We are doing our final touches I can’t wait to open.”
n August she shared the logo of Lady Du Entertainment, saying it will only focus on girls who want to make it big in the industry because it has matured. “My company turns 10 years next year, because it will be fully matured I will be working and developing girls only. I feel like females go through so much, I won’t be signing people. I don’t believe in giving people fish, I buy equipment for them to fish. Right now I’m building as much as I can to make sure they don’t have to look anywhere for sponsorship unless it’s brands for a party! We don’t sign to labels! We are the labels,” she wrote
