Black Twitter Debates On Who Makes Better Music Between Kabza And Kelvin Momo. Kelvin was born in Diepkloof, Soweto, in 1994, and his soulful-house-leaning amapiano tracks set him apart from the crowd. He is a pioneer of “private school amapiano,” a subgenre of the category that incorporates jazz, deep house, and lounge influences.
There’s just no one quite like Kelvin Momo. The veteran amapiano producer and DJ has cultivated a large and loyal fan base outside of the mainstream with his deeply musical and “grown” brand of amapiano. His last project, the soulful and sultry 2021 album “Ivy League”, is one of the most critically acclaimed albums of the past two years. Previously, he’d also showcased his peerless musicality with “Momo’s Private School” and the Babalwa M collaborative album “Bayeke” in 2020.
A year on from “Ivy League”, in November Momo announced on social media that his next effort would be coming out on December 9.Now with the release date just a few days away, excitement on Twitter has been at a fever pitch as fans revisit his old work and take to Twitter in their numbers to express their excitement for the album.
While Kelvin Momo dropped his much and highly anticipated project today, Black Twitter compared him with Kabza, while debating on who makes better music between the two artists.
One user wrote: “To be honest Kelvin Momo produces better music than Kabza. Noma ningathini I said it.”
Another user wrote: “Comparing kabza to every upcoming artist end here.”
