AKA Confirms Collaboration With Amapiano Star Toss. Kiernan Jarryd Forbes, known professionally as AKA, is a South African rapper. Born and raised in Cape Town, Forbes gained significance after releasing his single “Victory Lap” which was released from his debut studio album, Altar Ego.
AKA has been gradually unveiling artists he’s worked with on his forthcoming project and Toss was confirmed on Thursday night. The rapper revealed the Amapiano vocalist after a fan questioned him about it.
It is assumed that the rapper is fully back to the game and his forthcoming project will prove his return as it’s loaded with amazing and unexpected features. AKA is being flexible as he’s working with musicians across different genres.In Septemeber, he announced that he has a collaboration with Gyakie and Musa Keys.Fans are excited with all of these collabos, and they anticipate the release of the album.
AKA still can’t contain his excitement after his latest hit single Lemons (Lemonade), featuring Nasty C, allegedly reached gold status.The rapper took to Twitter on Tuesday to claim the song has garnered more than 1-million hits across digital streaming platforms since its release on September 16. “Congratulations to the Megacy. Unofficially Lemons (Lemonade) has just gone gold. Awaiting RISA certification. Plaques will be done next week. I couldn’t hold it in any longer. We back in businessbaby,” he wrote.
In a previous post, AKA expressed his gratitude towards Nasty C for the collaboration.“Thank you Nasty C. Full circle,” he wrote.
Speaking in a recent interview on The Episode podcast, AKA said the song was about them being comfortable with being where they are in their musical careers.“For me it’s not about, you know his verse is fantastic. For me it’s not no longer about that competitiveness, especially on a song like that. It’s really about making the best art for the fans, and I think he blessed me and I’m thankful for that,” he said.
