5 Things You Should Know About Amapuano Artist King98. Undoubtedly, the international explosion of amapiano has been fueled more than anything else by social media. Instant fame equals instant celebrity. Interestingly, many of the current amapiano stars don’t even have full albums to their credit, most of their popularity stemming from being featured on other artists’ cuts. Some don’t even have record deals but are major players in many other ways.

  1. Ngonidzashe Dondo widely celebrated as King98 is a young and talented Zimbabwean born versatile artist and philanthropist whose music has been embraced mainly in the Southern and Eastern parts of Africa.

2. His new age sound which is cemented by his ability to be versatile makes it easier for him to easily switch from Hip hop to Afro beat, even to amapiano.

3. In 2018, having started his career with a hip hop foundation, the young King made a herald with his song Wacko in which he featured Nasty C and Laylizzy. The record became platinum and its audience translated to be a fan base for King98. The record was part of the award-winning album Francesca which had other features including Davido “No bad Vibes” and some local features.

4. In the advent of 2020, King98 collaborated with the East African giant Diamond Platinumz. The record “Kachiri” which seats at over 6 million views gave King98 a rich audience and a core fanbase in the Swahili speaking nations. In possession of these collaborations, King98 has claimed great followership from the Southern and Eastern parts of Africa.

5. He dropped a single titled ‘Party After Party’ featuring Soul Natives and S.O.N.
