Master KG Reacts To His Single Featuring Nkosazana Daughter Reaching 10 Million Views. He continues to win. Last year, when their song Jerusalema reached 200 million views, they thought things could not get better. But two years after it was released, the song continues to soar. Kgaogelo “Master KG” Moagi releases one hit after the other.
When making music, Master KG says he tries to not compare his songs with Jerusalema but it becomes difficult as he also wishes for other songs to reach high standards.“I try as much as I can to not compare or compete. When I drop a song, I don’t anticipate that anything will do better than Jerusalem. I just make sure that it’s produced and mixed well. Anything else, we’ll see after.”
Released on 13 May, Master KG has won Mzansi over with his track Sofa Silahlane. The platinum-selling producer and Nkosazana Daughter previously worked together on the Jerusalema hitmaker’s Dali Nguwe which also featured former Idols SA contestant Basetsana. Today, one of his amapiano infused single featuring Nkosazana Daughter has amassed over 10 million views on YouTube in just a month. Taking to social media, the record producer celebrated the milestone. Check it out:
Master KG has a lot to celebrate. This year he is also nominated for a South African Music Award, after being snubbed last year and going on social media to vent. He is excited about this year’s nomination.“I would love to get Record of the Year, but I don’t think too much about awards,” he says.“People tend to think I have an issue with the SAMAs, I just don’t understand how they are run and how they make their selections. If I had an issue, I was going to say they must not nominate me at all,” he says.“I had the biggest song last year; I wasn’t nominated but there were other bigger nominations outside of the SAMAs which kept me busy. In essence, I make music and I’m not worried about awards. If people see your worth, they will always honour you in a rightful manner. There are absolutely no grudges.”
