The past few months have been a devastating experience for renowned musician Goodwill Malinga, affectionately known as Dr Malinga, whose life took an unexpected turn after his belongings were reportedly repossessed and auctioned by the SA Revenue Services (Sars).The popular music artist was a guest on the popular and controversial Podcast and Chill with MacG where he shared touching details about losing it all.
Dr Malinga broke down while explaining how his assets were repossessed, revealing he was fine when the popular gossip blogger Musa Khawula broke the news on social media because he thought he could pay what was due to Sars.This episode was the subject of talks across social media platforms as many people started showing care and support for the musician.And as a result, some of his fans and renowned artists such as Makhadzi publicly reached out to Dr Malinga, who seemingly needed all the support he could get.
DJ Maphorisa found himself being dragged by Twitter users after Dr Malinga allegedly revealed that the DJ stopped the release of his collabo with Kabza De Small.In a recent interview with Mac G where Malinga opened up about his life, loss and career, he revealed that he had cooked some songs with Kabza. Dr Malinga said he’s always wanted to work with Kabza and finally got the opportunity, though, Maphorisa was disturbing via phone calls during the studio session, which got Malinga furious. Dr Malinga went ahead by confirming that Maphorisa had a hand in his songs with Kabza not being released. See tweet:
As a result, some of his fans and renowned artists such as Makhadzi publicly reached out to Dr Malinga, who seemingly needed all the support he could get.
“I would like Dr Malinga to come to perform at my one-woman show. I sent a DM, for sure he did not see it. I really want to support him from the bottom of my heart. Anyone with management contact me please, DM me,” wrote Makhadzi.
“I finally reached Dr Malinga. I promise to not exploit him but share the little I have with him. God must bless and protect us. Artists have been going through a lot during Covid-19. We all suffered,” said Makhadzi
