Black Twitter React To Kabza’s Response To Dr Malinga. Dr Malinga has cleared the air on the monetary donations he’s been receiving since his emotional plea on MacG’s podcast last week. The Hangover hit maker has had fans and celebrities sending him money after he became a puddle of tears when he told the story of how the SA Revenue Service (Sars) hit him with a R2m bill.
After Malinga expressed his gratitude to EFF leader Julius Malema, Busiswa, Kabza De Small, Oskido, Makhadzi and Black Coffee among other celebrities who have offered their assistance, speculation circulated on social media that some had given the star hefty amounts. Dr Malinga dismissed rumours that he received R500,000 from Black Coffee, but confirmed he received a whopping R20,000 from the DJ.
During the interview, Malinga also spoke about how he wanted to work with Kabza De Small but DJ Maphorisa initially blocked the collaboration from happening when he called Malinga and told him: “Stop calling Kabza, do you understand.” Malinga never interacted with him after that incident but shared that De Small last year called him and they linked up at the amapiano producer’s home studio in Midrand. During their studio session, De Small and Malinga worked on songs together.
The “Akulaleki”’ hitmaker explained that he couldn’t recall the two unreleased songs that were made at De Small’s studio as it was an in-the-moment experience, with the tracks being written and recorded the same day. Luckily for fans, De Small still has the music and posted a snippet of the track “Ngivulele Malinga” on Twitter. He tweeted the audio and tagged Dr Malinga in his post, a clear sign that there is no beef. Malinga retweeted the post and thanked De Small for sharing the music.
However, Kabza also shared his side of the story saying that during Dr Malinga’s times, he was working hard. He expressed his anger saying people don’t know what they are talking about. Black Twitter then took it upon themselves to make Kabza trend calling him out for being arrogant, while others defended him. “Dr Malinga was supposed to ask Kabza why he ddnt release the song! Not going to MacG and say he thinks it’s maybe bc Phori advised him, Like he’s controlled by Phori. He must know that Kabza is old man. and old enough to make his decisions!” one fan wrote.
