Sizwe Alakine Reacts To ‘After Tears’ Amassing Half A Million Views. Sizwe Moeketsi Moniker, is a South African rapper commonly known as Reason, he came to prominence after his collaborative work with Ms Nthabi. He has worked with some of South Africa’s respected names such as Stogie T, Moneoa, ProVerb, DJ Maphorisa, Kwesta and HHP just to mention a few.
Ever since the star jumped into amapiano, he has been achieving milestones one after the other. The rapper is overly excited as his new song, ‘After tears’ just hit over half a million views on YouTube. The star dropped the single on May 26th, 2022 featuring DJ Stokie, Boohle, and Tycoon. Reason who now refers himself as Sizwe Alakine made his official appearance with the song.
He also shows how much he is enjoying the Amapiano genre as he also worked with Mellow and Sleazy on Casablanca featuring Madumane and Mpura.Taking to Instagram, he announced that his music video which premiered on June 16th has hit over 500k views on YouTube.He wrote: “After tears” just hit half a million views 😭 “Khanda Shisa” is about to hit 700k. In a kwaito-styled delivery, Boohle captures the song’s essence with her powerful vocals while the melodic production of DJ Stokie and Tycoon adds emotion to the amapiano signature lock drum. Boohle said: “I heard the song and could immediately relate. The first vocal that I’d recorded somehow went missing, and Sizwe waited for me to return from my trip to London to rerecord. This is a big song that’s relevant to the times we’re living in.”
Tycoon said he was honoured to work with such established acts, while DJ Stokie described the collaboration as energetic. Sizwe joined the music industry in 2005. He gained popularity in the hip hop scene after releasing ‘Breathe’. The popularity of the track brought about collaborations with fellow rappers Proverb and Tumi Molekane. He has won a number of awards and performed at home and abroad. Since crossing over to amapiano, he has collaborated with a number of popular artists in the genre, including DJ Maphorisa on ‘Khanda Shisa’.
