Sir Trill Continues Bid To Drop His Highly Anticipated Project Despite “Gatekeepers” Trying To Kill His Career. Sir Trill is a South African rapper, singer, songwriter, producer, music composer, and rapper. He is well known for hits like ‘Abekho Ready’ and ‘John Wick’ , hits he worked on alongside amapiano pioneers De Mthuda.
Fans have been baying for new music from Sir Trill for months now seeing as he hasn’t been as active as the other popular male amapiano vocalists he’s often pitted against: Daliwonga and Sino Msolo. He has been promoting his ‘Ghost’ album for a while now, which he claims has been ready for the public however, certain industry gatekeepers have made it difficult and impossible for him to drop it. Trill however, has revealed that he will drop it no matter how much they try to stop him. “Their families, kids came in just like me and did what I do. And I will always applaud them and not shit them out. I’m dropping this project for my people. No matter you try to silence or kill my career. I did nothing to yall,” he wrote.
Last month, Sir Trill shared that he has been wanting to drop his album but with no success as a result of “gatekeepers” not allowing him to. “It’s not me who doesn’t want to drop music,” shared Sir Trill on an Instagram Story. “They’re trying to shut me down. Working overtime to cancel my shows outside when all I did was help the same people.”
He added: “I wish you guys saw people for who they really are. It’s ‘you either let us eat from your plate or you don’t eat at all. I’m still not gonna sign my hard work, sweat and tears away to anybody.” While it’s not entirely clear who he’s referring to, many on social media suspect its DJ Maphorisa.“Boohle once said Maphorisa is a gatekeeper of amapiano. Now this Sir Trill statement makes more sense… 😫😫,” shared @chrisexcel102.
