JazziQ Questions If Whether SA Hip Hop Is Back Or It Will Phase Out Again. Mr JazziQ is one of the pioneers of Mzansi’s popular amapiano music genre. And on his journey, as an artist and record producer, the musician whose given name is Tumelo Manyoni has worked with some of the most gifted artists in SA.
As of late, it seems SA Hip Hop has taken a positive turn following the release of Nig Zulu’s diss track. In his 150 bars track, Big Zulu left no stone unturned as he went after each and every top SA rapper’s career. Big Zulu dissed K.O, Cassper, Nasty C, Duncan, Stogie T, AKA, Emtee, NOTA and others. The rapper did not delve into their personal life or their families rather he went straight firing shots at their hip-hop careers. The release of his 150 bars track has made him the most talked about SA celebrity at the moment as Black Twitter pour in with praises.
JazziQ took to social media to applaud what SA rappers are doing, however he questioned if whether SA Hip Hop was back and alive, or if it will eventually phase out again. “SA HipHop is back. I did say these niggas needed a wake up call But are they gonna keep it moving or it’s another phase. Honestly I’m interested cause I’m a big lover of hiphop,” he wrote.
The musician has also ventured into podcasting after recently launching JazziQ & Friends: In Conversation at Spitz on YouTube. The podcast, says the award-winning DJ and record producer, explores amapiano and how the most popular subgenre of South African dance music sound is evolving and dominating the airwaves. He is joined by guests on the show who discuss today’s most important issues in the music industry.“I am super excited about this collaboration. I have been rocking Carvelas since I was a kid. So, having Spitz come on board as an official partner in helping me tell the narrative around amapiano, is groundbreaking. The podcast is the first of many projects between the popular brand and Mr. JazziQ,” he said.
Mr JazziQ says Spitz called him and said they were interested in a collaboration with him. As a person who loves fashion and has been a regular shopper at the store, he says he found it fitting to work with a brand that won’t change his style but rather enhance it.
