Boohle Reveals The Challenges She’s Had With Being In The Limelight. Buhle Manyathi, professionally known as Boohle, is a South African singer and songwriter. She is popularly known for her songs “Yini Na”, “Slala Amalunde” and “Siyathandana”. Her music is a combination of amapiano, afro-house, afro-soul, and gospel.
Amapiano vocalist Buhle “Boohle” Manyathi has spoken up about the challenges she’s had with the demands of being in the limelight. “One of the challenges I’ve had to face with my job is having to maintain my smile. We go through a lot every day but we have to get out there and smile and do what we do. Make people happy. Be kind to someone today, you might just make their day, or change their lives.” she wrote.
Boohle grew up in Vosloorus, East of Johannesburg. Even as a young kid she knew she belonged behind the mic. “It all started when I was a kid. I don’t remember anybody telling me do this or do that. I just remember singing with my sisters and at school.”
he loved music so much that she decided that was what she was going to do after high school. Then she had to convince her family, which was no small feat. “At home, we were raised Christian and we were not allowed to listen to RnB songs, so we used to listen to the likes of Ntokozo Mbambo. I would think to myself, I wish I could be like her. It is something that was always at the back of my mind. Even though I wasn’t vocalising it,” Boohle said.
The 23-year-old singer ventured into the music scene in 2016 and has cemented her name as an award-winning amapiano star. The mother of one says her child and supportive family are what keep her going. “My biggest motivation is my family. I’ve been with them and they supported me even when they didn’t understand what I was doing. They supported me when I had a kid because I was very young.” she said.
