Watch! Sizwe Alakine Shares The Impression He Received After Jumping Into Amapiano. Sizwe Moeketsi Moniker, is a South African rapper commonly known as Reason, he came to prominence after his collaborative work with Ms Nthabi. He has worked with some of South Africa’s respected names such as Stogie T, Moneoa, ProVerb, DJ Maphorisa and a few other Hip Hop legends. The star recently joined amapiano and he shared the experience since he joined.

Sizwe Alakine has shared the first impression he received from SA Hip Hop after joining amapiano. The star changed his stage name to Sizwe Alakine after he released his amapiano single featuring Maphorisa. The former rapper is proving to have made the best decision in his music career to join the Amapiano genre. Reason has been one of the SA rappers who have jumped into the Amapiano bandwagon. The star however revealed the struggles he faced upon his decision to become an Amapiano artist. “The first reaction was like ooh you are hopping on the wave,” he said.

Sizwe made it known that the intense with people in SA hip hop made him feel like he was cheating and betraying the culture by jumping into the Amapiano wave.“There is a very intense relationship that people in hip hop have with hip hop, it felt like I was cheating on hip hop, it felt like everybody was like you’re gonna turn your back on the hip hop like that,” he said.

He continued by stating how people have been reacting to him since he joined Amapiano while imitating Julius Malema. “It felt like everybody was like you gonna turn your back on the hip hop like that how dare you after everything that hip hop has done for you, took you out of the ghetto, gave you a pretty girl, this life, this fame, this money, with a Julius Malema voice, yes,” Sizwe said.
