Samthing Soweto Reacts To His Latest Single As It Reaches A Gold status. Samkelo Lelethu Mdolomba, known professionally as Samthing Soweto, is a South African singer and songwriter. Samthing is best known for his vocals on Sun-El Musician’s song “Akanamali” and his number 1 single on spotify “Akulaleki”.

Samthing Soweto’s single, ‘Amagents’, has achieved 1.2 million streams across all streaming platforms to achieve gold status. Just under a month after releasing his new single Amagents, South African singer-songwriter Samthing Soweto is celebrating a major milestone for the heartwarming song. The track, originally released on 24 June, has been certified gold by the Recording Industry of South Africa (RiSA).  This is a huge milestone for the star considering that he just recently released the track. Check out his tweet:

It’s gold now, #amagents is gold.

When he told fans about the song just a day before its release, they got excited, already believing it would be a success, even before it hit the airwaves. And they were right. Barely 12 hours after it was out, the song was already trending and hitting top 10 positions.  He will not be drawn into talking about his daughter but says she is also glad the song is finally out. “We’ve been singing along to the song on our morning drives to school for months now.”

Samthing Soweto, real name Samkelo Mdolomba, says he has evolved as an artist this year. “I think I found a new love for music this year. I’m working on being more appreciative of everything I have. I’m trying to be better, in general.”

Amagents is just a taste and teaser of more things to come, the Isisphithiphithi hitmaker says. He will be dropping an album later this year. He will also be announcing his three-city tour next week.
