NOTA Reveals His Contribution To Mlindo’s New Album Titled ‘Lindokuhle’. Nhlamulo Baloyi, known professionally as Nota, Authority, or Lavid Nota is a South African rapper, music executive, and entrepreneur. He is a self-acclaimed SA Hip Hop pioneer. Starting as a rapper, Nota released many singles, including “Karama,” “Sphesihle,” and “Preacher,” featuring Kwesta. Nota has been on a roller-coaster of sorts since he first emerged in the spotlight in 2020.
Nota took to social media to share his contribution to Mlindo’s project which saw his collaboration with Thabsie and Kwesta titled ‘Macala’. The producer detailed how it happened, stating that he was at the SAMAs (South African Music Awards) when Maphorisa approached him to have a listen at the project, where he responded that it was missing a lead single. He shared that at the time the project was 70% done when Phori sent it to him to finish it, and that was when he added Thabsie’s verse and made Kwesta rewrite his.. He also gave himself flowers saying it was the best-selling album for two years.
Nota shared that he was also a part of that project. Detailing how it happened, Nota shared that he was at the SAMAs (South African Music Awards) in Sun City when Maphorisa asked him what he thought of the project, and he told him that it was missing a lead single. He wrote that Phori sent it to him when it was 70% done so he could finish it off, and that was when he added Thabsie’s verse and also made Kwesta write his.
He wrote: “I was at the SAMAS in Sun City, Phori asked me what I think of the Mlindo project & I told him “it’s missing a lead single…” He already had 70% done when he sent it to me to finish off. I added a Thabsie verse & made Kwesta rewrite his. It was the best selling album for 2-years!”
Mlindo released a new album recently, however before that, he had taken to his Instagram to open up about things that have been weighing heavily on him. He thanked his fans for everything they have done for him and the support for his album Emakhaya. “It hasn’t been nice for me for a long time. You’ll remember I’ve had a lot of accidents and I didn’t speak to anyone. It took a lot from me. I I hope with this new music you are going to support it like you’ve done before. I’ve been working on these songs for a long time and they are finally ready. I wish you guys can support me. I’m very sorry for being away for this long.”
