Maphorisa Accused Of Refusing To Pay Promoter For ‘Scorpion Kings’ Live Concert. Maphorisa first shot to fame in 2013 as part of the multifarious musical group, Uhuru. The group blew up off the anthemic Y-Tjukutja in 2013, which owned the summer. That same year, Uhuru further enhanced its reputation by producing and featuring on Mafikizolo’s chart-topping, multi award-winning hit single, Khona.
Dj Maphorisa found himself being dragged and threatened by a promoter whose name is Thabiso Floyd Tshabalala, with the Twitter handle @francwear. The promoter claims the DJ didn’t pay him for the upcoming Scorpion Kings concert which is to happen with Kabza De Small; the man said he’s a pillar of the show. “I am Scorpion Kings Live at Sun Arena and yes, there will be no event without me the third member. Your keeper has stolen from the wrong person this time, a person who doesn’t even like your God!!”
Phori’s refusal to pay the man got him sending threats on Twitter. “I’m going to say this again, your deadline to get back to me is today at 11:59 pm or else don’t go to @KonkaSoweto tomorrow!! While you’re at it, postpone this event of mine until I give you the go-ahead!! Kind Regards Thabiso Floyd Tshabalala.”
Thabiso says he won’t let the concert and any other show happen till he gets settled; he also called out record label working with the music producer to take down his songs off streaming platform. In one of his concluding tweets, he claims some musicians are suicidal because of Maphorisa – This claim is believed to be related to Sir Trill’s post where he talked about being oppressed by some bigger musicians in the industry. “The reason why these kids are suicidal is because of people like @DjMaphorisa who promise them heaven and earth only to deliver Hell with a dash of Gucci!! I’m going to discipline you!!”
