“Amapiano Has Fought Poverty” – Julius Malema Opens Up About The Genre. Julius Sello Malema is a South African politician and activist who is a Member of Parliament and the President and Commander-in-Chief of the Economic Freedom Fighters, a South African political party, which he founded in July 2013.

Julius Malema sings the praises of the music genre, Amapiano during a recent interview on Mac G’s Podcast and Chill. The EFF political party leader attended to various questions asked him and was applauded by viewers for his brilliant response.

Speaking about the impact of Amapiano, Malema said the genre has done really well for lots of people as it’s made the music industry more accessible for more talents, hence eroding poverty. “Amapiano has changed people’s lives. It has fought poverty and you ask yourself what the state is doing about it-nothing! They could have built studios in every municipality where people can go and record for an hour for free,” he said.

He questioned the contribution of the Government to the genre; seeing how it’s doing well, Julius expects the state to build recording studios in different provinces so artists can utilize it without paying a dime, which will in turn appreciate the culture. Watch the video below:
